Motorola: a brief history
A snapshot of the last several years in Motorola's history shows a company in flux, culminating last week, when the smartphone manufacturer's sale to Google was finally given the green light. After undergoing governmental scrutiny from the US, China and the EU, the move, priced at around $12.5 billion, seems a logical fit, given the phone maker's push toward a portfolio built nearly exclusively around the search giant's mobile operating system. Of course, it's hard to imagine such a transaction taking place, had the Mobility wing not been spun off from Motorola a year and a half prior.
These are the latest events for a company that has undergone a fair amount of change in its 80-plus-year existence. It's a long and fascinating story -- one likely hazy at best for those who can only remember as far back as the original RAZR or StarTAC. So, before the company embarks on the next chapter of its history, let's take a quick look back, after the break.

Discuss plans, storylines, and events; Recruit for your roleplaying game, or find a GM for your playergroup.HERE IS WHERE MAIN EVENTS IN THE ROLE PLAY WILL BE LISTED IN ORDER. FEEL FREE TO ADD THINGS THAT CAN HAPPEN, WE ONLY HAVE A FEW SO FAR. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO DO SO! Get those amazing, creative minds to working!! ^.^ Even though the events are a bit spread out, you can suggest something to happen in between those things. =)
Main Events::
? Monday, October 4th:: School starts back for all those attending Ashwick High School, home of the Ashwick Panthers. This is also the first day at the school for the three witches. Many things are happening. Sports sign-ups, signing up for certain clubs, ect.
? Friday, October 8th:: The annual "Back To School" dance, held in the school's gymnasium. It's nothing big like the Halloween Masquerade, and never requires much decorating. However, those in Student Council are in charge of making and handing out fliers, and getting people together to do a little decorating. [A boys ask girls event, though you can go alone as long as you're a Junior or Senior.]
? Monday, October 18th:: The town of Ashwick's Fall(Autumn) festival. Carnival rides, games, and activities for the local "townsfolk." The school's drama club usually puts on some small play. The football team usually runs a few booths at the festival as well: Playing games to win a prize, bobbing for apples, kissing booth, something along those lines. And don't forget the great 'Haunted House!!' =)
? Friday, October 22nd:: The Ashwick Panther's first football game, it is also Homecoming. Their first game, like always during Homecoming, is against their biggest rival. The Blackwood Bears. During this time AHS(Ashwick High School) students are full of school spirit! They deck out in the school's colors(red and gold), and come supporting their Panthers at the game!! Students in the school's daily paper go to take pictures of the game, and get "interviews" from a couple of the star players.
? Sunday, October 31st:: The great, cherished Halloween Masquerade. Ashwick students adore this event that has been a tradition every Halloween for over thirty years. Students on Student Council start decorating a week in advance. It is also held in the large school gymnasium. It is, like always, a boys ask girls event. You cannot get in the doors without a mask on!!!
That is all the events we have so far! Please suggest other things to fill in the gaps. Obviously, there needs to be a couple! =P Once the month of October is over events for the following month will be put up!

How about the School play for Felix and his gang? Perhaps a test that Damien needs to pass or his out of the team since there should be a maintaing GPA for players right? And an evil plot brewed by Soleil and her clique or other Antagonists that may join?
Btw, Soleil needs a girl or two to form her clique- you know, rivals for the 3 girls :)

I like the school play idea! =D Perhaps the 21st, a Thursday for the play? =o
And what do you mean an evil plot? XD Plot for what? o.o (you can message me about it if you'd like)
About the test, that's up to reveries! That could be a personal thing Damien has to take that doesn't really need to be mentioned in the "Main Events." XT
P.S. About the needing a couple more girls for the "clique" thing, tell friends about this role play! ^^ Ask if they'll make one to help you out. If not, I could possibly make a snobby girl? XD Who knows.. =o

Five Myths That Keep Women Single | Love, Life, and Relationships ...
Are single women too picky? Let me save you the suspense, the answer is YES! As a woman for more than thirty years, I do get to make the blanket statement that at some point in our lives we are so moved by our own imaginations that we become doused with dreams of God coming in the flesh and being out mate. Instead we should be (if this is even on your list), awaiting a God-ly man. A man who presents himself as one made in the image of God but that would be too much like right, wouldn?t it ladies?
Day Dreaming
I know of many church women who are saving themselves for marriage. They are proud and even boastful about their three-year, five-year, seven-year, and eleven-year itches where they just can not seem to understand why GOD has not sent them the man of their dreams. You know the one, the one that God has made just for them.
I have a secret. I was always scared of these women. As soon as they would start talking about how long they have been waiting and believing God I would start talking to God myself saying, ?What are they doing wrong?? It doesn?t take that long to find the one. God would not torture me like that.?I wanted to know the secrets. ?Tell me Lord, What do I have to do? Where is he??

I even remember my pastor talking to me one day and asking me what I wanted. I told him and he responded funny as usual but his observation made me want to dig deeper into myself and figure out what in the world I was really looking for. He said, ?If you get all of that you?ll make him your God.? He said, some other things along with that statement but that one kind of jolted me. I became figgety in my seat. I wanted, I needed more explanation.
I was day dreaming of a man who was perfect. He would be advanced in his knowledge of the word of God, be in full application and practice of spiritual gifts. He could turn me out in bed and make my favorite breakfast in the morning. The man would be the one people gravitated to when he walked in a room but he would never cheat and women would never want him. I am being a bit eccentric in my illustration but I am hoping that you get my drift.

He was humble; the Michael Jordan of his industry. (Michael Jordan although I secretly still love him ? is anything but humble which is a MAJOR turn off) His shoulder length was this, and his calves size was that. He didn?t belch loud in front of me or embarrass me in front of company ? ever. He spoke perfectly but was not attention seeking.
Okay ? this is clearly not my real list but some of these things may be on yours. For some of you, you may want him to be just like your pastor. Are you sure about that? You don?t know how your pastor really treats his wife! And, if he is who you think he is, Rome was not built in a day, and neither was he.
I was at a Quixtar-Amway Convention some years ago and there was this beautiful Indian man on stage. He really confirmed my attraction to Indians. He spoke well, could wear the stitching out of a suit and he had this beautiful family to match. After he finished speaking, his wife approached the podium. You could tell that everyone was really mesmorized by his gorgeousness, all of it. What made him look so beautiful was that in addition to his stature, he was a family man.

Will and Jada Smith
There were Ooo?s and Awww?s. His wife said, ?I know many of you look at my husband and you think that he is fine, and he is. Many of you women even want my husband but you don?t know him at home.? She went on to say that he is a wonderful husband but he wasn?t always like this.?She talked about how he had grown as a man over the years and what people were mesmorized by was the result of hard work, growth and the fruits of her labor; the anointing of the relationship.
Her point was, we often look at the end result, a man who has grown into his greatness and shout, ?I want that!? ?And, on the other hand, we look at what we perceive to be perfection when it fact, it is the devil with a bad suit on, with a sexy bow-legged walk and a fresh shape-up!
I find that in our thinking we are often extremists when it comes to choosing a man. We want someone who is either perfect or the other end of the spectrum is to convince ourselves that we have a man who wants more for himself and has a heart for you when in fact he does not.
Making A List and Checking It Twice
Some people say that you should not have a list. I disagree completely. I do believe that God is a very specific God and if you are going to go to God in prayer, you will need to be very thorough with your vision so that the angels can run with it.
I have always had a list about the type of man that I wanted and as I grew older I begin to add-on and also examine what my true desires were. What I found in the end is that many of my wants were related to what I thought would look good as a compliment for me and not necessarily the experience that I wanted to have.
On February 3, 2011 I wrote a blog which turned out to be the very thing that set in motion the mindset that I needed to recognize the person that I will spend the rest of my life with. I looked at my list and asked myself what experience I want to have in my relationships. I begin to think about if I were to be ill, old, sad, happy, affectionate etc? I started to ask questions that are relative to how I will spend my life with someone.
And, the blog helped me to position myself to receive the one.
You May Also Like: No Sex Before Marriage
Single women who are so caught up in their religion or faith that they do not realize that the man you choose still has to put his pants on in the morning, will continue to be single and live without sex.
So without further ado, here are Five Myths That Keep Women Single.
1. He has to be like your pastor. If he is not called to ministry, particularly the office of the pastor, he may not practice the same gifts as proficiently. In fact, even if he is called to the office of pastor he may have different gifts than the man you are praying for him to be like.
2. He has to have a job, car, money, and a house. Honestly, all of these things are superficial. If I were asking for the experience that I want to have personally, I would ask for a man who has an amazing work ethic. Just because he has a job, doesn?t mean that he is likable on that job or even reliable. They may be looking for opportunities to ruin his career because of his character. Although I would have liked for my husband to have a car when we met, and God knew that ? God opened a door for him to get a job where they give him a car as a perk. What I really wanted (the experience) was someone who was independent and did not require me to be the taxi driver for their social endeavours.
3. He has to go to church every Sunday. I am not saying that this is not important however, I want to encourage you to remember that you want to ask for the experience that you really want to have in your relationships. Going to church Sunday morning is not as important as how you live your life outside of the two hours that you go to church. Does he have a prayer life? What is his character like? Is he a God-fearing and Godly man?
4. Men Lie.?This is indeed a myth. Men do not lie. If you make them feel uncomfortable, nag them to death and create a hostile environment some men will lie without even blinking or thinking twice. However, the first answer with a man is always the truth. Let me explain. If you say, ?What are you looking for?? And, they say ?Friendship.? And then they add, ?I am not really looking for anything but if something happens, it happens.? They mean it. They aren?t looking to marry you. It is just that simple.
They are not as complex as we are. What he said, he meant. When I met my husband he said he was looking for marriage. It didn?t mean that he knew he would marry me, but he was clear that this is the type of relationship he was looking for, one that would result in marriage.
You May Also Like: Would You Marry Someone Diagnosed With Disease?
Some people discourage women and men from being this honest upfront but if that is what you are looking for, you need to see whether you and your potential partner have the same goals in mind. There is a big difference between the desire for marriage and a casual sexual experience that spans the a few dates or hook-ups at best.
5. That you must adjust your standards. ?This is a serious myth. What I encourage is that you change your strict list, to focusing on the experience that you want to have in your relationship so that you can see clearly whether you have someone in front of you that is worth your time.
I do not believe that choosing to date someone without caring about how much money they have is ?adjusting your standards.? You are becoming more aware of what is important to you. For many people it is not that he must have alot of money, it is that you want to trust him to take care of the family and having a house, car, job etc makes you feel that security.
If you do want him to have money and that is the only thing that makes you feel that since of security then this is the experience that you want to have. My only question is, What happens when the money leaves?
Of course, I can think of more that five myths that keep women single, but I wanted to get single women thinking about the fact that none of us are perfect. We all have pasts, bills, goals, achievements and disappointments. No matter how close we are to God and are spiritual, we are living in a fleshly body and equally important are how we view and handle situations within our courtships.

I want to help women especially christian women who have been waiting, and waiting for the right man to come almost brainwashing themselves to believe that he will come riding on a horse as a Knight to deliver you from singleness. Some Christian women call him Boaz.
In my workshops, I seek to help women and men to discover their own heart about their mate-to-be and not the conflicting opinions of others. You have to live with them, and you have to love them so being totally honest about who, what and how you love are imperative in finding the one.

World's largest release of comprehensive human cancer genome data helps researchers everywhere speed discoveries
ScienceDaily (May 29, 2012) ? World's largest release of comprehensive human cancer genome data helps researchers everywhere speed discoveries Whole genome data from hundreds of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital patients exceeds volume of all other sources combined
To speed progress against cancer and other diseases, the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital -- Washington University Pediatric Cancer Genome Project has announced the largest-ever release of comprehensive human cancer genome data for free access by the global scientific community. The amount of information released more than doubles the volume of high-coverage, whole genome data currently available from all human genome sources combined. This information is valuable not just to cancer researchers, but also to scientists studying almost any disease.
The release of this data was announced as a part of a perspective published in Nature Genetics online May 29.
The 520 genome sequences just released are matched sets of normal and tumor tissue samples from 260 pediatric cancer patients. The Pediatric Cancer Genome Project is expected to sequence more than 1,200 genomes by year's end.. Each sample is sequenced at a quality control level known as 30-fold coverage, ensuring maximum accuracy. St. Jude researchers are analyzing the genomic sequences to determine the differences between each child's normal and cancerous cells to pinpoint the causes of more than a half-dozen of the most deadly childhood cancers, an effort which has already produced a number of key discoveries reported in top scientific journals.
"This effort has generated more discoveries than we thought possible," said James Downing, M.D., St. Jude scientific director who leads the project at St. Jude. "We want to make this information available to the broader scientific community so that, collectively, we can explore new treatment options for these children. By sharing the information even before we analyze it ourselves, we're hoping that other researchers can use this rich resource for insights into many other types of diseases in children and adults."
Launched in early 2010, the Pediatric Cancer Genome Project is the world's largest effort and investment to date to understand the genetic origins of childhood cancers. The three-year project will cost an estimated $65 million. St. Jude is covering $55 million of the cost, including a $20 million commitment from Kay Jewelers, a long-standing partner of St. Jude. This is the first major privately funded human genome sequencing project to share its data as soon as it becomes available. To date, this type of open access has largely been restricted to government-funded efforts. Non-government efforts are typically treated as proprietary.
"Setting this precedent reflects a commitment to freely sharing information that has been a hallmark of St. Jude since we opened our doors 50 years ago," said Dr. William E. Evans, St. Jude director and CEO. "The Pediatric Cancer Genome Project is a one-of-a-kind effort, so the information has the potential to accelerate disease research worldwide."
Researchers worldwide will be able to access the sequence data via the Web-based European Genome-Phenome Archive, which provides large datasets for free access by researchers on request: www.ebi.ac.uk/ega/organisations/EGAO00000000046.
While most cancer genome initiatives focus only on genes, which make up a small portion of the genome, the Pediatric Cancer Genome Project researchers have taken a different approach. They are sequencing the entire genome -- all the DNA -- in each patient's tumor. This provides a richer, more complete picture of the DNA changes underlying the development and progression of each patient's disease.
"This approach has been more valuable that anyone could have predicted," said Richard K. Wilson, Ph.D., director of The Genome Institute at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. "We have identified unusual, 'cryptic' changes in many patients' cancer cells that we would not have found using other methods. We are pleased to be able to share this data with the research community in hopes that others can build upon our initial discoveries."
The Pediatric Cancer Genome Project has already yielded significant insights into aggressive childhood cancers of the retina, brainstem and blood published in leading international scientific journals. Project researchers working on the eye tumor retinoblastoma discovered clues to the tumor's rapid development that enabled them identify a promising new anti-cancer agent. Investigators studying a deadly childhood leukemia known as early T-precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ETP-ALL) found unexpected genetic alterations that could change diagnosis and treatment for patients with this disease.. Efforts to understand the genetic changes underlying a brainstem tumor called diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) found that a startling 78 percent of the tumors carried changes in two genes not previously tied to cancer. Most recently, project researchers identified a gene mutation associated with a chronic and often fatal form of neuroblastoma-a discovery that provides the first clue about the genetic basis of the long-recognized but poorly understood link between treatment outcome and age at diagnosis.
"These findings would not have been possible without the Pediatric Cancer Genome Project," said Downing. He said these results offer new strategies for finding and treating these high-risk cancers. The project has also demonstrated the marked differences between pediatric and adult cancers, underscoring the importance of developing therapies specifically for childhood cancers.

Useful Tips For Online Business For Social Networking Local ...
Posted by cagoraman on 29th May, 2012 ?
Social networking is becoming a very large part of the Internet world, and the primary reason is due to the fact that people love interacting and learning from one another. Socialization has taken over the internet, and that?s great news for your online business because it means that you?ll be able to reach out to your prospects and customers in all new ways. People are more approachable these days than they were in previous times, and that?s great news for any online business. People will freely share their interests and desires these days. You only need to send out your message to them and get them to act on that message. If you want your business to succeed with social networking online, you will want to put the following techniques to work.
One of the biggest problems your business is likely to face with social networking is actually finding out where your customers are online, and that?s because there are so many platforms and blogs. You will be able to reach your target audience much easier when you know how to get past this fact. This is going to require actually going out to get involved with the social media networking so that you can actually find everyone you?re trying to target. It?s going to take work and a little bit of time, but soon you will see just how easy this is. With so much to remember and so much to tell your target audience, your main messages may get kind of long. You should try to focus on this so that you aren?t taking the long road to success. Your messages to your target audience need to be short and to the point if you hope for them to be effective. Your main aim here is to grow your business by passing on the right message and by created a strong headed approach. Once you begin your journey into a web business and making Success-WithAnthony.com a part of it, then you will fast figure out the need to choose one thing out of several possibilities every single working day. Those who are more experienced will have passed many trials by fire in that regard.
If there is no clue at all as to how to get started in the first place, then welcome to the club and learn to deal with it for a while at least. Bear in mind that millions have gone before you, and you are capable of learning how to cope with new experiences. One other area where some have difficulty is being concerned about costly mistakes, and we will tell you that every business makes those kinds of mistakes ? so do not worry about it. The difference is with more experience the mistakes are fewer. There is always room for improvement, learning and growth which is what all savvy marketers do.
You should be transparent in all your dealings. Clients want to be aware of what is occurring on the inside. They want you to be honest with your rules and regulations. There shouldn?t be anything hidden because you want your business to grow and your clients to trust you. This can only happen when you play your cards right by being open to your customers and prospects. If you do not like something in particular, state it. Be honest with your customers and show them what you really think and they will appreciate your for it. Anytime you are discovering a marketing or advertising method for the first time, it is almost always helpful to withhold judgment about it. You should have that perspective all the time no matter how good or bad you feel about it. While Affiliate-Revolution.org has been used successfully over the years, it may not work with your model or you just do not want to take the time to test it. It is usually the beginners who can sometimes easily be deceived, and so if you are new to this then look around and do some additional reading.
You probably are well aware of the dangers of skipping over checking things out. Another great and common danger for beginners is they often jump around from one great thing to the next and none of them are given enough time to work. But you should not be afraid of anything that appears to be new to you because there are some products that are excellent. You know about trolls, and there are those who bad-mouth just about anything regardless of how good it is; so keep that point in mind. This all goes along with the thought of an ounce of prevention, and it is an ounce well spent, possibly.
In conclusion, these suggestions help you to understand how essential it is for companies to network on the social sites. There are new companies that lose the opportunity to be a part of the social web because they overlook these guidelines. If you really want to see long term results and want to generate more business online then don?t hesitate to effectively network on the web. The volume of information on the net related to doing business is simply staggering, and we understand if you feel like that at times. All right, you have just read about these three approaches used with Membership To Go, but get ready because there is so much that was left out. Now what you want to do, or should do, after reading this is go out and find out more.
For those who are not as aggressive or as confident as others, be wary of hiding behind all the ebooks and courses.
Working on your business means making sites, creating content, starting marketing and advertising campaigns but not spending all your time learning. Work on your sense of self-discipline, and that could mean dragging your self to your computer in the evening after your regular job and just working for half an hour or an hour.

Ex-NFL player Reggie Rucker: Concussions were funny then, not now | ProFootballTalk
Reggie Rucker played wide receiver in the NFL from 1970 to 1981, and he says that in his playing days, the culture of the league as it related to head injuries was to treat the whole thing as a joke.
Rucker told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that players routinely returned to games after suffering hits serious enough to cause memory loss, and that players thought it was funny when they?d watch film of a game they couldn?t remember playing in.
?I remember when I was in Oakland and got knocked out by Jack Tatum,? Rucker said. ?I remember [trainers] asking, ?Do you know where you are?? I said, ?Oakland, California.? You sat down for a while, and then you went back in. You?ve been programmed all your life as a professional athlete, particularly in my era, that you could not give in. You had to show your bravado. The next day, when you went back to review the game on film, I?m sitting there and watching something I couldn?t remember. You?re laughing and joking and it?s funny then. It?s not funny now.?
Rucker is one of the more than 2,200 former players suing the NFL, and he thinks the league owes it to those players who laughed through their concussions to take care of them now.
?I?m not angry,? he said. ?I?m not vindictive. But I do want my life to be cared for in the appropriate way, if something happens to me as a result of those concussions and those hits, so that I?m not a burden to society or to my family.?

Expert says DNA on medical waste matched Clemens'

WASHINGTON (AP) ? A forensic scientist testified Friday that two cotton balls and a syringe needle allegedly saved after a steroids injection tested positive for Roger Clemens' DNA, a key moment as the government tries to prove the former pitcher used performance-enhancing drugs.
Alan Keel told jurors that the DNA on both cotton ball matches were "unique to one person who has ever lived on the planet" ? Clemens. He said that one of the cotton balls had a random match possibility of one in 15.4 trillion for Clemens' DNA, and the other had one in 173 trillion, when comparing to the population of white people in the U.S.
The needle was not as conclusive, because Keel was only able to get a handful of cells. That match was one in 449.
Brian McNamee, Clemens' former strength coach, earlier testified he collected the medical waste after injecting the pitcher with steroids in 2001, and turned them over to federal authorities in 2008. Earlier government witnesses testified that steroids were found on the medical waste.
Clemens is accused of lying to Congress in 2008 when he denied using performance-enhancing drugs.
Prosecutors hope that Clemens' DNA ? which helped make him one of the most successful pitchers in baseball history ? will help them convict him of a federal crime.
While Keel's testimony was a milestone moment for the government, the defense indicated early on it wouldn't contest that the needle had both steroids and Clemens' DNA on it. But Clemens' lawyer Rusty Hardin said in his opening statement that the defense will contend that McNamee put the steroids in the needle after injecting Clemens and that the coach in fact had used the needle to inject Clemens with vitamin B12. Clemens has maintained for years that he received B12 shots and the local anesthetic lidocaine but not performance-enhancing drugs.
Prosecutor Courtney Saleski tried to pre-empt that by asking Keel if there was any way to "fake this."
Keel said no.
"If this were contrived, I would expect to obtain much more biological material," he said ? in other words, it would be hard to fake a sample with such a small amount of biological material on it.
The gauze pad, meanwhile, matched McNamee's DNA, to an even greater probability than Clemens did for the cotton balls. Keel said that the match was 1 in 1.8 quintillion people for white Americans. A quintillion has 18 zeroes in it.
During cross-examination, Clemens lawyer Michael Attanasio tried to suggest the possibility of contamination in the items McNamee saved.
But Keel said that if there were contamination, he would have expected to find McNamee's DNA on the needle. But he found only found Clemens'.
Attanasio suspended his cross-examination for the lunch break and planned to finish it Friday afternoon.
Also Friday, U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton said he would have a hearing on Monday, June 4, to discuss the defense subpoena for the testimony of Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. That committee held the congressional hearing that Clemens testified before in 2008. Issa, a California Republican, was not chairman at the time, but he participated in the congressional deposition of Clemens and criticized the panel, then run by Democrats, for having the hearing on steroids in baseball.
Issa and the committee have filed a motion to quash subpoenas for the congressman and for committee documents. They argue the subpoenas are barred by the Constitution's speech or debate clause, which protects elected officials from being questioned in a lawsuit about their legislative work.
