Octomom and Frankie Grageda Go on a Date!!!!!

Octomom Nadya Suleman and new boyfriend Frankie Grageda went on a date this week. Stunning and breaking news right there, we know. Breathe.

Who knows how you arrange a babysitter when you have 14 children and a house in foreclosure, but lo and behold, Octomom apparently pulled it off.

Gotta make time for yourself and your love life, right?!

Octomom and Frankie Grageda

Octo began dating Frankie G, a 23-year-old bodybuilder, two months ago.

That's a decent chunk of time, but the pair had not been able to go on their first real date without the brood until this week, when Frankie stepped up to the plate.

He reportedly got a friend to watch the kids so he could take her to the beach in Santa Monica! There, she reenacted these scenes from the Octomom porn movie.

Just kidding ... but it wouldn't have surprised us.

The two worked out together on the beach, with Frankie Grageda helping her get in shape for her stripper gig at The Playhouse in Hollywood, Fla., on July 13.

Who said true romance was dead?

Mursi Urged To Honour Peace Treaty With Israel

James Martin - Thursday 28th June 2012

Britain this week expressed optimism that the new Egyptian President would honour the long-existing peace treaty with Israel, despite reports that Mohammed Mursi had stated it was under "review".

In an interview published by an Iranian news agency on Monday, Muslim Brotherhood leader Mursi was quoted as saying his government would "reconsider the Camp David Accord" and that better relations with Iran "will create a balance of pressure in the region, and this is part of my programme". He was also quoted as saying that the issue of Palestinian refugees returning to homes and families abandoned in the 1948 Arab-Israeli war and the 1967 Six-Day War "is very important".

In contrast, in his victory speech in Cairo on Sunday night Mursi, who secured a majority of the vote in a run-off including against ex-prime minister Ahmed Shafiq, said he carries "a message of peace" to the world and pledged to preserve Egypt's international accords, which includes the peace treaty with Israel dating back to 1979.

A Foreign Office spokesman, taking at face value the Egyptian leader's claim that the quotes attributed to him by the Iranian agency were incorrect, told the Jewish News: "We have been encouraged by statements from Mursi about respecting international agreements and want Egypt to continue to act as a force for regional peace and stability, including by maintaining a productive relationship with Israel."

However, he added: "The true test of any new government is how they act in office; whether they uphold human rights and govern on behalf of all their citizens, and ultimately whether they are prepared to surrender power through the ballot box in elections of the future. We will judge them by their actions."

A Zionist Federation spokesman said: "We support the democratic process and hope he respects the existing peace treaty which has been in place for more than 30 years.

"In truth, the election victory came against two worse options, but it was democratic and that's important. Hopefully he will form a positive government and there will be a positive approach to Israel. But he has not even set up government and Israel is not the number one priority. We hope that when it comes to actions - not just words - he will be true to the treaty."

Prime Minister David Cameron, who wrote to Mursi to congratulate him on his party's victory, emphasised he was "looking forward to working with the new government on issues of common interest for the peace and stability of the region".

German circumcision ban sparks outrage

By msnbc.com and news services

BERLIN - Jewish and Muslim groups protested on Wednesday after a German court banned the circumcision of young boys for religious reasons, Reuters reported. The ban applies to the Cologne region of Germany.

The court in the western city of Cologne handed down the decision on Tuesday in the case of a doctor who was prosecuted for circumcising a four-year-old Muslim boy.

The doctor circumcised the boy in November 2010 and gave him four stitches, the Guardian reported. When the boy started bleeding two days later, his parents took him to Cologne's University hospital, where officials called police. The doctor was ultimately acquitted on the grounds that he had not broken a law.

The court ruled that?involuntary religious circumcision should be made illegal because it could inflict serious bodily harm on people who had not consented to it. Male circumcision is part of Jewish and Muslim religious tradition.

The ruling said boys who consciously decided to be circumcised could have the operation. No age restriction was given, or any more specific details.

The Central Council of Jews in Germany called the ruling an "unprecedented and dramatic intrusion" of the right to religious freedom and an "outrageous and insensitive" act.

"Circumcision for young boys is a solid component of the Jewish religion and has been practiced worldwide for millennia. This religious right is respected in every country around the world," President Dieter Graumann said in a statement.

Fewer than 20 percent of boys are circumcised in Germany; by contrast, 56 percent of male newborns in the United States?were circumcised in?2005, according to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

In the U.S., circumcision rates vary by region. In the?West, fewer than one-third of newborn boys are circumcised; in the Northeast, nearly two-thirds of newborn boys are circumcised.

Parents who choose to circumcise their boys have said they chose the procedure because it improves hygiene and can cut the risk of the spread of disease, HIV in particular.

"Fatal to the freedom of religion"
According to the court ruling, "the fundamental right of the child to bodily integrity outweighs the fundamental rights of the parents."

But the Central Council of Muslims in Germany called the sentence a "blatant and inadmissible interference" in the rights of parents.

Rabbi Aryeh Goldberg called the ruling ?fatal to the freedom of religion,? the Guardian reported. He told Haaretz that it went against the European Union?s convention on human rights.

"The child's body is permanently and irreparably changed by the circumcision. This change runs counter to the interests of the child, who can decide his religious affiliation himself later in life," it said.

Germany is home to about four million Muslims and 120,000 Jews. In Judaism, 8-day-old boys are circumcised to recall the covenant established between God and the Hebrew patriarch Abraham.

The time for Muslim circumcision varies according to family, region and country.

Concerned the ruling could be followed in other parts of the country and that it could prevent doctors carrying out circumcisions for fear of prosecution, the Central Council of Jews urged the German parliament "to provide legal clarity in order to prevent attacks on religious freedom."

What are symptoms of psoriasis? | Health And Fitness Kit

Discovering psoriasis demands looking for characteristic skin changes which in many instances have a preference for specific body parts. Thickening of skin, scaling and redness are all distinctive changes seen in psoriatic skin. Additionally, psoriasis can affect not just skin, but nails, scalp, and joints as well. In other words, psoriasis has findings typical for both what and where.

What is Guttate, Pustular and Erythrodermic Psoriasis -

symptoms of psoriasisThese less common apperances of psoriasis differ dramatically from the typical plaque type. In Guttate (drop-like) psoriasis, little papules (lesions which can be felt and are less than 1cm in diameter) look scattered throughout the skin. Pustular psoriasis can appear in smaller areas or include most of the body with countless tiny white pustules. Eythrodermic Psoriasis occurs when the entire body changes bright red and scaly. In this instance, a skin biopsy may be needed to separate erythrodermic psoriasis from other diseases which also can cause a universally red and scaly skin (known as exfoliative erythroderma or ?red man?).

What is Auspitz?s Sign

When adherent psoriatic scales are scrathched or picked off, point bleeding known as Auspitz?s sign may occur. The pinpoint areas represent the tops of tiny capillaries which undulate vertically throughout the thickened psoriatic skin.

What is Skin Plaques

symptoms of psoriasisPlaque-type psoriasis is the most common form of the disease, hence the name psoriasis vulgaris. The three trademarks of a plaque of psoriasis are: thickened skin, red skin and skin scales. The thickness of a plaque (a raised skin lesion more than 1cm in diameter which can be felt) can vary from hardly perceptible to several millimeters thick. They range in color from a light pink to thick beefy red. In patients with dark-skinned, there may be little redness and more darkening of the skin. Scales can comprise from virtually absent to dense oyster-shell like adherent plates known as ostraceous scales.

What is Koebner Phenomenon

The Koebner phenomenon (Koebnerization, isomorphic response) appears when a new area of psoriasis develops in injured skin. For instance, after a surgery, psoriasis might develop around the surgical scar. This development may also help explain why psoriasis tends to appear on areas of constant low-intensity trauma such as elbows and knees. Koebnerization can appear after non-traumatic skin injury such as a sun tan, or an allergic reaction to a medication. In patients who suffer from dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis of the face and scalp, psoriasis can superimpose itself due to irritation and scratching and a crossover or combination dermatitis known as ?sebopsoriasis? develops. Koebnerization is not specific to psoriasis.

Where- Finger and Toenails

Nail changes normally seen in psoriasis include thickening, lifting, and pitting of the nails. ?Oil spotting? (darkened areas where the nail appears translucent similar to the effect of placing a drop of oil on a sheet of paper) are fairly specific for this disease. Treatment of nail psoriasis can be difficult.

Where- Typical Locations

symptoms of psoriasisPlaque type psoriasis generally involves particular locations on the body including the scalp, elbow, knees, genitals, belly button (umbilicus) and buttocks area (sacrum and intergluteal cleft). In moist areas such as the armpits, under breasts or in the groin, scales become softened (wet and pasty) and the lesions take on a moist, red and raw appearance closely mimicking a yeast infection in appearance. On the scalp, a severe form of dandruff-like flaking and scaling can be seen.

Where- Joints(Psoriatic Arthritis)

Psoriatic arthritis is an inflammatory arthritis which can affect up to 10% of patients with moderate to severe psoriasis. Five clear-cut patterns of arthritis appear in psoriasis which can sometimes be identified from rheumatoid arthritis by x-ray findings or blood tests.

?Where- Hand and Foot Lesion

symptoms of psoriasisPsoriasis of the hands and feet can have either a plaque like appearance as seen in other body areas, or a pustular appearance. The existence of pustules is generally attributed to infections, however in psoriasis, pustules form as a part of the inflammatory response. Very thickened plaques on the palms or soles, being somewhat inflexible, may crack with movement. The resulting fissures can be painful and sometimes become secondarily infected. Severe foot lesions can result in disability by limiting your ability to walk.

Android 4.1 SDK hands-on

Android 41 SDK in photo and video

Too lazy to download and install the brand new Android SDK yourself and don't feel like tweaking an AVD for optimal operation? Don't know what an AVD is? We don't blame you, and that's why we're here. We fired up Jelly Bean in the Android emulator and started poking around a bit. Sadly, most of the most exciting new features -- offline speech recognition, Google Now -- don't work. And we couldn't really delve deep into the new notifications system thanks to some limitations on the SDK. We could, however, play with the new version of Maps and demo the new widget placement tweaks. Most of the UI should look familiar. In fact, the only obvious changes we noticed were the new search widget and a few tweaked buttons, like notification clearing option. You'll also notice a new layout for the clock and date in the notification pull down. Mostly, from a aesthetic point of view, the refinements are minor, but welcome. Everything feels a little more spacious, less cramped, without becoming overly simple. Want to see it for yourself? Check out the gallery below and the video after the break.

ITC: Google vs Apple preliminary win reviewed, iPhone and iPad ...

The Apple vs Android legal war is so complex that unless you follow it closely, you?re prone to get lost in translation and soon give up trying to keep up with who is suing who and why, and who?s scoring more wins and where.

Essentially, Apple sued the main players in the Android business so far including Samsung, Motorola and HTC for alleged patent infringement, but it didn?t go directly after Google. In turn, the three Android makers countersued Apple individually, bringing their own patents to the fight, and Google watched from the sidelines, deciding not to sue Apple directly ? it did try to provide some ammunition to HTC, but the patents it shared with the Taiwanese company were shot down in court recently.

Since Google completed its extraordinarily expensive $12.5 billion Motorola purchase?back in May, it found itself involved in a plethora of legal battles, with Apple but also with Microsoft.

When Google announced its plans to acquire Motorola last year, analysts and members of the media speculated on the fact that the Search giant is willing to pay $12.5 billion for the company in order to arm itself with a huge collection of patents, many of them essential for the cell phone business. At the time the purchase offer was made, the Apple vs Android legal war was raging on, so it seemed logical to see Motorola?s patents as important defensive and offensive weapons against Apple, and anyone else that would attack Android.

But now that Google has inherited all of Motorola?s legal predicaments, the Search giant is far from putting that impressive patent collection to good use. We?re certainly interested to see whether the conflict with Apple will further escalate, or whether the two companies will find a common ground in the near future and reach a settlement.

motorola razr vs apple iphone 4s

Meanwhile, Apple and Google are basically suing each other in various courts, both in the U.S. and in Europe, and this fight may become one of the most important battles yet in the mobile environment now that Google is directly involved.

Earlier this week, a Federal Judge decided to dismiss an Apple case against Motorola (and therefore Google) with prejudice, meaning that neither party can refile the suit in a Federal court. Both companies asked for an injunction against the other?s products, with Apple having four patents left in the fight against one of Motorola?s. At the time, Judge Posner revealed his opposition to awarding injunctions to any company based on FRAND patents, or standards-essential patents. And that Motorola patent used in the trial is a FRAND patent.

Why is this important to know? Well, Motorola scored a victory against Apple back in April at the International Trade Commission before being purchased by Google. Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) Thomas Pender found in his initial determination that Apple was infringing a 3G patent owned by Motorola. The patent, one of the four Motorola attacked with in this complaint with the ITC, targeted Apple?s iOS devices including the iPhone and the iPad. This patent is a FRAND patent as well, but not the same one Motorola used in Federal Court against Apple.

The ALJ?s initial finding was not a final decision, and the final ruling of the Commission can overturn it. In fact,?Bloomberg?on Monday reported that the ITC decided to review the ALJ?s initial determination and issue a final ruling on August 24.

Google And Motorola Ordered To Share Android Development Data With Apple

In theory, in case Google will win this battle, the ITC can award an import ban against iPhones and iPads, which would mean that Apple would not be able to bring the devices that are manufactured in China to the U.S. anymore. In case that sounds familiar, that?s what happened with HTC in one of its legal fights with Apple. The iPhone maker won an import ban with that ?data tapping? patent ? a patent it also uses against Motorola and Samsung in other suits. Also worth mentioning is that Apple and HTC are still arguing on the matter, as Apple claims that more HTC devices continue to infringe that patent, and therefore the product ban should cover 29 more devices including the HTC EVO 4G LTE and the HTC One X. That only goes to show how complicated these ITC trials are, and how product import bans affect the companies involved in these lawsuits.

But Google?s ITC complaint is slightly different as it?s based on a single patent, and that one is a standards-essential patent. Motorola is already investigated in the European Union for its FRAND patent use in such patent-based trials, right alongside Samsung, and it?s probably unlikely to see major injunctions and/or import bans on FRAND patents alone.

Moreover, various third parties formally voiced their support for Apple and Microsoft in their defending ITC cases against FRAND patents owned by Motorola including U.S. senators and Congressmen, the United States Federal Trade Commission, HP, Nokia, Intel, AT&T, Verizon, IBM, Activision Blizzard, Cisco and others.

With all that in mind, we can?t but wonder what the ITC ruling will be, but considering what?s at play and the fact that Google is only relying on one FRAND patent in this fight, an iPhone and iPad import ban seems highly unlikely. And, for the sake of the argument, the same goes for Microsoft products including the Xbox gaming console, which is targeted by Google in a different ITC case. But the two companies may end up licensing the technology from Google, or enter other settlements with the Search giant.

We?ll be back with more details about this ITC Google vs Apple case, as the two companies will have to answer to various questions from the Commission in the following months (see PDF file at the Source link below), many of them referring specifically to FRAND patents and whether they?re suitable for such import ban requests.

Facial At Home: Skin Care Tips and Recipes ? Beauty, Health and ...

Keeping skin soft and healthy is important, but many commercial products contain harsh chemicals or are very expensive. The good news is that skin care doesn?t have to cost a lot of money. With basic household ingredients, keeping skin healthy and hydrated is simple. These recipes are designed for having a facial at home.

Cucumber and Olive Oil Mask

* 3 oz. diced cucumber

* 3 tsp olive oil

* 2 tsp plain yogurt.

Mix the three ingredients until combined. Apply to face and leave on skin for about 15 minutes or until mostly dried. Wash off with cold water. This is a great mask for dry skin, especially in the winter time. The olive oil helps to moisturize delicate facial skin, while the cucumber and yogurt plump skin cells and help to maintain brightness. Use this mask alone if pressed for time, or take a few hours to do an entire facial at home.

This facial at home option can take a few hours, but is a great way to pamper yourself without spending a lot of money. First, get two slices of cucumber, turn on some relaxing music, and pull back hair into a headband. Start by removing any makeup with a gentle cleanser. Remove eye makeup and then rinse with warm water, patting skin dry.

Secondly, use an exfoliator to remove dead skin cells. A basic exfoliating product will work well. Apply a nickel-sized portion, and using gentle, circular motions, exfoliate the face and neck. Be careful not to get too close to the eyes, as the skin in that area is delicate. After this step, rinse face clean.

Thirdly, open the pores. Get a towel wet with warm water. Put the towel on the chin, and wrap both ends around the forehead, spreading it out to cover the sides of the face, leaving a small opening at the nose to breath freely. If available, light a scented candle or use an aromatherapy spray. Relax while reclining for a few minutes while the pores open gently.

Fourthly, apply a facial mask. This can be the oil and cucumber mask, or any other ones available from stores or made at home. Put on the mask and apply the cucumber slices to the eyes. Masks should usually be applied for about 15 minutes. Rinse off the mask, making sure to remove all of it. After patting skin dry, moisturize the face and neck. Use an oil-free moisturizer that won?t clog pores. Even individuals with oily skin should apply a moisturizer. Choose a light one which won?t weigh down skin.

This at home facial is a great way to relax with friends or just devoting an evening to yourself. Having an at home facial is inexpensive and requires only basic skincare products. For a relaxing and pampering experience, take a few hours and try this facial method at home.

Biden, in leaked memo, told Obama war plan flawed

WASHINGTON (AP) ? As President Barack Obama considered adding as many as 40,000 U.S. forces to a backsliding war in Afghanistan in 2009, Vice President Joe Biden warned him that the military rationale for doing so was flawed, a new book about Obama's expansion of the conflict says.

The book, "Little America: The War Within the War for Afghanistan," also says that in planning the drawdown of troops two years later, the White House intentionally sidelined the CIA. Obama purposely did not read a grim CIA assessment of Afghanistan that found little measurable benefit from the 30,000 "surge" forces Obama eventually approved, the book quotes a U.S. official as saying.

A copy of the book by Washington Post correspondent Rajiv Chandrasekaran was obtained by The Associated Press. It will be released Tuesday.

A previously undisclosed Biden memo to Obama in November 2009 reflects his view that military commanders were asking Obama to take a leap by adding tens of thousands of forces whose role was poorly defined.

Although Biden's doubts have become well known, the new book details how Biden used a months-long White House review of the war to question the basic premise that the same "counterinsurgency" strategy that had apparently worked in Iraq could be applied to Afghanistan.

"I do not see how anyone who took part in our discussions could emerge without profound questions about the viability of counterinsurgency," Biden wrote to Obama. To work, the counterinsurgency or "COIN" doctrine requires military gains to be paired with advances in government services, a "credible" Afghan government and Afghan security services that can take over, Biden's memo said.

Although the U.S. military could accomplish any technical assignment related to the new strategy, such as sweeping insurgents from a village, "no one can tell you with conviction when, and even if, we can produce the flip sides of COIN," Biden wrote. He supported a buildup of 20,000, half the number requested by then-war commander Gen. Stanley McChrystal.

The memo echoed a secret message to Washington from then-U.S. Ambassador Karl Eikenberry that had called Afghan President Hamid Karzai an unreliable partner for the proposed surge. Eikenberry, a former top Army general who had served in Afghanistan, said more forces would only delay the time when Afghans would take over responsibility for their own security.

The Eikenberry memo was leaked shortly after he sent it, and confirmed by U.S. officials. Biden was presumed to agree with it, but he stayed mum at the time.

Obama's compromise ? 30,000 additional forces and a deadline to begin bringing them home ? was intended to blunt the momentum of a resurgent Taliban insurgency without committing Obama to an open-ended war.

The classified CIA assessment found that Afghanistan was "trending to stalemate" in mid-2011, just ahead of the long-planned date when Obama would begin bringing the additional forces home.

Although many of Obama's advisers had also concluded that the surge strategy had not worked, a White House official is quoted as saying aides initially rebuffed the CIA analysis because it could undercut Obama's argument for withdrawing forces on schedule.

"We didn't want it," the official said.

Home APS Contractor Improvement Is Easy With The Right Information

If you?re interested in improving your home but aren?t sure how to, then look no further. This article is geared to help you learn ways to improve your house with many insightful tips. Just make sure you read and digest the information because that?s the only way you?re going to see any type of real change.

For an energy efficient upgrade, replace your hot water heater with a tank-less model. The new tank-less heaters only heat the water as it is needed as opposed to keeping 50 gallons or more heated at all times. This change will help your utility bills and the environment.

Home improvement is often a daunting task. This is because of the time and the amounts of money required. However, it doesn?t have to be so bad. If you have several projects in your house, divide them up into several smaller DIY projects. For example you may want to redo the entire living room. Start simple, by just replacing the carpet, and before you know it, your living room will be like new.

If you live in a home that was built before 1990, consider having your attic re-insulated with newer materials and energy saving foam. Newer home insulation technology can save you hundreds of dollars in less than a year by improving the overall efficiency of your heating and cooling systems.

When it comes to home improvement,it is not uncommon to ask for a contractor to provide references from their previous jobs. This is important to ensure that their prior customers received the satisfaction that you desire. It AC Rooftop Cost is not abnormal to ask for this, and if the contractor acts otherwise it is most likely because they have something to hide.

For the budget-minded homeowner working on a plumbing home improvement project, plastic PVC piping makes an entirely suitable substitute for expensive copper piping. PVC has been extensively tested and used for years without danger or failure. It is easy to work with and highly durable. The money saved by using PVC can be applied to more visible, usable home improvements.

Installing carpet can be a daunting task if done yourself, or an expensive task if you pay a professional to do it. Fortunately there is an alternative. Much like vinyl floor tiles, there are carpet tiles that exist. These too have adhesive backing that allows you to install them easily, and they look just like real sheet carpeting when installed.

Air Conditioning

One valuable home improvement project that could save you money is the installation of ceiling fans. Having a fan in each of your rooms can help keep them cool and allow the air to circulate. If you use the fans instead of air conditioning, your summer energy bill will be much lower.

In order to get the most out of your air conditioning and heating system, clean or replace your air filters. Dirty air filters can reduce air flow in your vents, causing your system to work harder to cool or heat your home, therefore using more energy and costing you more money. You can find replacement filters at your local hardware store or even sometimes at your local supermarket.

AC

Always make sure your air conditioner filters are clean and are replaced regularly. When the filters for your AC are dirty, the airflow is restricted. This causes your AC unit to use more energy, driving up the cost of your energy bill. Therefore, keeping filters clean ensures you enjoy a reduction in your monthly energy expense.

Still running those window uniair conditionersCentral AC is a costly upgrade but a rewarding one. It will save you money on your electric bill, so you will slowly make the upgrade cost back. Plus, it significantly increases the value of a home. Look into upgrading to Central AC in your home.
Air Conditioners
If you are looking to improve your home, always check the filters in your air conditioners. If you have a dirty and clogged filter, your air conditioner will have to work much harder to cool your home. When your air conditioner works harder, you will be using more energy to cool the house. This can result in a higher energy bill.

Still running those window unit air conditioners? Central AC is a costly upgrade but a rewarding one. It will save you money on your electric bill, so you will slowly make the upgrade cost back. Plus, it significantly increases the value of a home. Look into upgrading to Central AC in your home.

Hopefully, with the information you acquired from this article, you?re feeling like you have a better idea of what it is you need to do to improve your home. Now that you have this knowledge, formulate strategies for success and apply them wherever you see fit. If you do that, you should be satisfied with the results.

Uganda Government News: President Museveni, Mbabazi and Kadaga meet today

Ultimate Media

President Museveni has summoned the speaker of parliament, Rebecca Kadaga and Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi for a meeting at state house in Entebbe today to resolve the political misunderstandings among themselves. ?

The misunderstandings came about during the recent NRM caucus meeting where president Museveni rebuked Mbabazi and Kadaga for antagonizing his foreign policy.

President Museveni accused them of taking decisions and travelling to Arusha to participate in the EALA elections without consulting him.

The President was also reportedly said that a speaker is supposed to simply wear her wig and keep silent until something that needs her guidance comes up.

Following these developments, on Friday the three commissioners of parliament; Chris Baryomunsi, Emmanuel Dombo and Jalia Bintu condemned the president?s disrespect of the speaker and the legislature.

Today?s meeting is expected to address the widening rift within the National Resistance Movement party.

Texas Tech Health Sciences Center looks to help breast cancer ...

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Over the years, we've brought you a number of stories about breast cancer, from prevention to detection, it's been one of the top subjects in the field of medicine.

But what happens after the fight? Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is looking at a brand new program at Texas Tech that focuses on coping with the disease.

Breast cancer has been a major topic of research at Texas Health University Health Sciences Center, and while the main focus nationally has been on detection and prevention, a few year ago, they started contemplating the fight that wages after the fight with cancer.

Dealing with cancer, the treatment along with other factors can take it's toll and often times the road back isn't an easy one. So researchers started looking at the mechanism of coping.

Texas Tech Health Sciences Center?is looking at a new coping program designed to work with survivors, family and friend after the fact.

Doctors say there are a number of factors, such as treatments, age and severity that play into post-treatment care.

Dr. Rakhshanda Rahman says there are four main factors determining how patients cope. Their treatment, their stage of cancer, the time after diagnosis and their age. Interestingly, younger patients had a harder time with coping.

"Some of the physical toll is devastating but more importantly how they're not able to handle it and talk about it and develop some coping skills to try and control what they can and realize what they cannot...and thats where the change cycle comes in."

This new coping skills class is being introduced through a grant by Sharon Felts, the grants manager at the Breast Center of Excellence located at Tech. A breast cancer survivor, she's hoping helping others face the changes and cope is reflected in what she herself went through.

"Raising awareness to help them know what they're feeling is perfectly normal and natural and this is what I'm supposed to be feeling and I don't have to keep feeling this way," Felts said.

More than 3,000 ?breast cancer survivors call the Panhandle area home and it's this group that being asked to participate in these classes that they hope will become part of a nation-wide criteria hat deal with coping.

"I think this will make such an impact for the families of breast cancer survivors..." added Felts.

Texas ranks 4th in the nation when it comes to detected breast cancer and it's their hope that initiating this type of program will help heal the scars that can't be seen for survivors, family and friends.

For more information on the new program, call Texas Tech at 356-4659.

Mock asteroid mission 'incredibly realistic'

The ocean floor may seem a bit close to home for astronauts on a mission, but the underwater world provides a great dress rehearsal for a trek to an asteroid in deep space, two spaceflyers told NASA chief Charles Bolden Wednesday.

Bolden checked in with astronauts Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger of NASA and Tim Peake of the European Space Agency as the pair floated outside the Aquarius research station, about 62 feet (19 meters) deep a few miles off the coast of Key Largo, Fla.

Metcalf-Lindenburger and Peake are two of the four crewmembers on the 16th expedition of the NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations program, or NEEMO. The main goal of NEEMO 16, which began June 11 and wraps up Friday, is to help NASA prepare for a manned mission to a near-Earth asteroid.

This is a key priority for the space agency. Two years ago, President Barack Obama directed NASA to work toward getting astronauts to a space rock by 2025, then on to the vicinity of Mars by the mid-2030s.

"Do you see this training as realistic?" Bolden asked Peake during Wednesday's call, which was broadcast live on NASA TV. "Is it something that you find beneficial, and adds some realism to your thoughts about what it will really be like when you get to go to an asteroid?" [Photos: NEEMO 16 Undersea 'Asteroid' Mission]

"It's been an incredibly realistic mission, yes, absolutely," Peake replied, as colorful reef fish swam around him and Metcalf-Lindenburger. "I don't think you can beat Aquarius, and what we've been doing down here, as far as a space analogue is concerned."

The NEEMO 16 aquanauts' activities focus on three core areas, NASA officials have said: dealing with communication delays, figuring out optimum crew sizes and coming up with ways to attach to and travel across an asteroid in deep space.

They've tested out asteroid-snagging tether systems on seabed "spacewalks," for example, with the underwater environment providing a decent approximation of what it would be like to work in space.

And NEEMO 16 crewmember Steve Squyres ? a professor at Cornell University and the lead scientist for NASA's Spirit and Opportunity Mars rovers ? recently fastened his feet to a small submarine and was driven around from spot to spot, trying out a technique that could let astronauts explore an asteroid while keeping their hands free.

All of this work has been extremely productive, Peake said.

"We've had a fantastic mission. We've accomplished all of the objectives, and we've really collected a load of great data," he said. "I'm really looking forward to seeing the results of that data, and to seeing what the fruits of our labor will produce in the years to come."

The fourth NEEMO 16 aquanaut is Japanese astronaut Kimiya Yui. He and Squyres sat inside Aquarius during today's phone call, staying as dry as Bolden did.

Metcalf-Lindenburger, who flew on the space shuttle Discovery's STS-131 mission in 2010, commands NEEMO 16.

Aquarius is the world's only undersea research station, according to NASA officials. It's owned by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and managed by the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. The station sits on a patch of seafloor next to coral reefs in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, 3.5 miles (5.6 kilometers) from Key Largo.

Look, no hands! Augmented reality gets a grip

11 hrs.

FRANKFURT/HELSINKI One day in March 2000, just days before the dot-com bubble began its journey back to earth, German engineer Thomas Alt first glimpsed the future of technology.

"Do you know augmented reality?" his boss at Volkswagen asked.

He did not.

"Neither do I, but you are about to, because this will be your project," he said, dropping a stack of papers on his desk.

For the next three years, Alt developed a technology that overlays text or graphics on real-life images and objects. The resulting hybrid can be viewed on a smartphone, tablet or PC screen, and soon - the tech geek's fantasy - through dedicated specs.

Today, 37-year-old Alt partly owns Munich-based Metaio, one of the leading companies in the rapidly growing augmented reality (AR) industry. Along with dozens of other products, Alt has created an AR manual for Audi cars.

No more leafing through a crumpled manual to find out why the aircon's blowing hot in August. Point your phone at the offending gadget, and instructions pop up on the screen.

Augmented reality has been called the eighth mass medium, after print, recordings, cinema, radio, television, Internet and mobile phones.

By reaching out to media companies, the industry, which was a collection of smartphone apps generating less than $2 million in 2010, is on the verge of becoming a real business worth perhaps $1.5 billion in 2015.

"In the early days, we were talking about visionary ideas for the future. Today we come up with business models and products," said Maarten Lens-FitzGerald, co-founder and general manager at Layar, a Dutch start-up.

Layar, whose software has been downloaded more than 20 million times, hooking 3 million active users, has the world's most used consumer AR application, a reality browser that helps find services nearby, acquiring info on anything from favorite restaurants to networking opportunities via a mobile camera.

"We are actually making money and are becoming a little boring. But that is what the industry needs right now," said Lens-FitzGerald. "We actually try to hold back on visionary ideas. We are getting out of the gimmicky stuff."

Layar's demonstration video went viral in 2009. It showed period houses as seen from a boat on Amsterdam's canals. By pointing a camera at the houses, information about which were for sale and their prices is layered on the camera image.

Not for the faint-hearted, but another eye-opener for the house hunter, SpotCrime, by Popvox, will people the scene with the stylized muggers, murderers and burglars that have graced the neighborhood, too.

Chips with virtually everything
Sector executives speaking at the Reuters Media and Technology summit said most interest for their products came from the publishing industry and e-commerce.

Sweden's Ikea, famed for its low-price flat-pack furniture, has an app that lets you point a camera at a spot in your room and overlays an image of the furniture you are thinking of buying. Assembly is still down to you.

Heavy hitters are now throwing their weight behind the concept. Qualcomm, the top wireless chip maker, has bought up AR assets and opened its platform for software developers in 2010. ARM is also adding AR features to the chips it designs.

Chipmaker Intel has invested $14 million in Layar through its venture arm and is looking to add AR features to its chips.

Intel anticipated that ways of controlling a phone without touching it, such as by voice or by gesture, would be the next big developments.

The challenge is to make money out of those features.

"We would certainly anticipate a sharp rise in service adoption, although we would suggest that, given the continued uncertainty surrounding optimal monetization models, 2015 revenues are unlikely to exceed the $1.5 billion," said Juniper Research director Windsor Holden.

Laurence Tetrel Poupart, chief operating officer at Total Immersion, one of AR's front runners, agrees.

The company has been around since 1999 and expects to double sales this year to 20 million euros, but Tetrel Poupart said the technology has a little further to go to become a reliable money-spinner.

"We would definitely like to go for the virtual trying on of clothes, but some technical issues need to be resolved," she said, adding that the company needed faster chips to make the 'virtual dressing room' take off.

"We don't want you to see whether the clothing suits you but that it actually fits. We don't want it to be a gimmick, we want to have true usage, to reduce the return rate for the e-commerce merchants."

Try before you buy
Simpler applications have found their way to consumers, and businesses are very keen to use them.

Thomas Alt's Audi manual is one example. Another is a Layar application that helps publishers more easily link print and digital content. By pointing their smartphones at a magazine, readers can get information about products featured in articles, and go on to buy them.

"At the same time, companies get loads of feedback about consumer behavior, which they can use for marketing purposes," said Alt, who has also developed a similar product for German magazine Stern, owned by Bertelsmann's Gruner + Jahr publishers.

Currently more than 10 million German magazines with AR features hit the shelves every month, including titles from publisher Axel Springer.

Companies are lining up to use the technology, said Tetrel Poupart. "But we are now in a phase that we need to discourage companies from going for another gimmick."

Total Immersion has seen strong interest in its software, which allows consumers to try on glasses without physically touching them.

There is still a long way to go before augmented reality catches up with the movies, however; it is nearly three decades since Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator viewed mission-critical data and images projected on the inside of his aviator shades.

Google has launched what it has dubbed "Project Glass" to develop such features, but it is viewed as a long shot.

"Since I started, this has been the ultimate dream in the industry. I don't buy it so much," Tetrel Poupart said.

"It makes you dizzy. I think we should use augmented reality in a more simple way and use the tablet. The tablet is a key device. It is here."

Eventually she expects traditional television screens - connected to the Internet with a built-in camera - to be a significant driver for both AR and the e-commerce industry.

"You use your television set as a mirror, trying on and ordering your clothes from your home."

Buyer beware -- if the trend continues, you'll have nowhere to go to wear them.

Xania, at 22, you probably can't even realize yet just how wrong HE is. You can't make his family accept you. You didn't break up his marriage, but he definitely did. Even if his wife had affairs, and even if it was because he was unkind to her, that means he didn't make his marriage enough of a priority. In fact, he coped with it by turning to a girl who is young enough to be his child and getting her pregnant while he is still married.

There are so many red flags here that the only truly good answer I can give you is that you would be smart to reconsider having this relationship at all. Luckily for you, his family is forcing you to open your eyes and look at the situation, but you might still not see what you should be seeing - that your relationship with this man isn't a healthy one.

uhm okay but let me just clear out some things
well the first thing is that i dont want to blame his wife for breaking her marriage alone ...... i know that we have made bad things as well
and
he (my boss) moved out after he found out that his wife cheated so they we're actually seperated (he 100 % wanted a divorce)

we weren't in a relationship we just started to hang out togheter and after a while he said that he wants to be with me and we had sex, and i got pregnant while he is divorcing

and yes being pregnant in such a time is really stupid
but it just happend that way and when i told him that i'am expecting a child he was just happy and loved the baby from the first moment

we just taught that he could divorce his wife .. marry me have the baby and live happily togheter but things are just bad right now
and we're not proud of that what happend but it happend and we just want to make the best thing out of it

and you can sayy sugar baby or gold digger how much u want but i will only say that this is 100000% love and nothing bout the money or else

thank you

Stuff happens. I hope things work out as you'd like them to, though it'll be hard to get there.

I've mentioned some red flags that I hope you'll look at. Here's one more that is a BIG one, too. At your age, you're just starting in your career. You'll be at the peak of your career right around the time he's going to be ready to retire. Some questions I hope you'll ask yourself (whenever applicable):

- How will things be when he has no work responsibilities and you still have to go to work every day? Will he go off and do his own thing? Will you be the ball and chain that keeps him from travelling, starting a hobby career, or whatever his goals are?
- Your child will be reaching college age as he's getting ready to retire. Will you both be able to put away for college AND retirement?
- Will he resent you if you want to spend money and have fun at a time when he needs to putting away money for retirement?
- How will your energy and motivation levels work together or conflict as the years pass when there's such a large age gap?
